Second Wave of 2019 Conference Highlights:

The Best and Worst of Being An Agent in 2019 – In this panel we’ve assembled some of Canada’s top electronic music agents to discuss all things good and bad in the industry.

Addiction and Recovery in the Music Industry Panel – Substance use and addiction tends to plague many artists, especially touring musicians. This panel discussion involving DJ’s and industry professionals, will examine the social and personal factors that perpetuate cycles of mental health distress and the self-medication that often results.

NMC: ON Buchla Masterclass With Suzanne Ciani – Dubbed the “Diva of the Diode,” Suzanne Ciani is an electronic sound designer and composer known for her decades-long relationship with, and mastery of, the Buchla 200e synthesizer and its predecessor, the Buchla 200. Ciani will be in attendance to deliver a demonstration and lecture on the history of the instrument.

Dance Music as an LGBT Art Form – an expression of intersectionality and the creation of queer safe spaces within the community spanning back to the 1980s until now across Canada.

The DIY Feminist Resistance – These organizers will discuss their activism and art, and how a Do-It-Yourself approach has allowed them to create both physical and metaphorical space for women and non-binary artists in a white-hetero-male dominated industry.

In Conversation with David Ogilvie – Universal Audio & HHB Canada is proud to present an exclusive session with one of Canada’s most talented music producers: Dave ‘The Rave’ Ogilvie.
